PSP Media Manager

Sony has released a program that allows simple drag-and-dropping of files for the PSP. That’s not surprising, but what is is the $20 they’re asking for it. Specially when applications like PSP Video 9 or plain Windows Explorer do exactly the same thing for free.

Still, if you’re a very basic (emphasis on basic) user, this might be just the application for you!

iPod Jacket by Kenpo

Los Angeles clothing design firm, Kenpo, has released an iPod jacket. The jacket, designed to work with iPod and iPod minis (huh – minis are phasing out, right?), is tech meets style. The jacket is machine washable and requires no batteries for operation. Just simply plug in the iPod and then use the keypad located on the arm to control. As you will notice, the product and its site Kenpo.com are sporting the now uber expensive ‘Made for iPod’ tag.

Apple Steps Up Nano Advertising in Tokyo

In the Tokyo subway system you might find a wall filled with Apple iPod Nano’s. No, not real ones, but plastic cutouts that you can remove from the wall and take with you. They are the actual size of the Nano, and are made with a sturdy plastic.

nanowall.jpg

Much to my suprise, I later realised that these cutouts weren’t made of cardboard but of plastic, and are very rigidly built too. On the reverse side were the URL and QR Codes of a site where you can download iPod nano wallpapers for your mobile phone.

Having living somewhere way out from Tokyo, I was very lucky to be able to get my hands on these cutouts AND witness those “refillers” in action. Hats off to Apple and their wonderful advertising.

Shuffle Lego Case

This:

Is one of the newest accessories for the iPod Shuffle. It’s going on sale for $50. I don’t really know what else to say… this the most pointless accessory I’ve ever seen.

The V@mp VP325

By David Ponce

The Holidays are coming. You know that, right?

Now, I’m sure that if you think hard enough, you’ll realize you’ve got some kid in your life who’s constantly lusting after all your gadgets. He plays with them, presses all the buttons, while you hold your breath and smile politely. Now, you could buy that kid some phony Fisher Price piece of crap simili-gadget. But kids are smart, man. They’ll see right through it. So, be nice, and shell out a very reasonable $50 to purchase this: the V@mp 256MB MP3 Player.

For that amount, you’re getting a truckload of features:
• 256mb flash memory
• MP3/WMA/OGG playback
• Game Function
• JPEG Picture Display
• 1.9-inch CSTN color LCD
• Text to Speech 2.0
• Line-in MP3 Encoding
• FM Radio Tuner
• Voice Recording
• Phone Book Function
• Text View Function
• Stop Watch Function
• Calculator Function
• Built-in rechargeable battery, up to 15 hours playback
• SRS WOW sound effect
• USB Flash Drive
• Includes protective case

With that, he’ll be the coolest nine year old in class, and he’ll adore you forever. Or, maybe he’ll curse you and kick you in the shin for not buying him a nano instead. Who knows with kids these days.

Check out the product page. And, a place to buy it. Story VIA DAPreview.

XtremeMac AirPlay iPod Shuffle FM Transmitter: For those who feel a little left out

XtremeMac AirPlay iPod Shuffle FM Transmitter
With all this hoo-haa about the Apple iPod nano, it seems like the poor old iPod Shuffle has been…well…shuffled (pardon the pun) into the background. But there is still life in the Shuffle yet - its white surface being more resistant to scratches than its big brother and with no screen to crack, it’s more suited to physical activity, like jogging and bike riding.

Well, even the most physical of us drive a car sometimes and I’m sure some Shuffle owners have been looking at all the car charger/FM transmitter choices the other iPod owners have - such as the XtremeMac Airplay and Griffin iTrip LCD, without realising that you have your own elegantly integrated FM transmitter/car charger solution!

The XtremeMac AirPlay iPod Shuffle FM Transmitter is a fantastic integrated solution for the upwardly mobile Shuffle user, which makes all the other iPod and iPod nano solutions seem bulky and cumbersome. The main feature is the Shuffle dock, which houses an LCD screen showing what station is currently being used and buttons for presets and FM station adjustments. Its combined charger/transmitter functionality means that you’ll never have to hunt for the charger cable and transmitter ever again!

Features of the XtremeMac AirPlay FM Transmitter for iPod Shuffle

- Backed by XtremeMac’s Lifetime Warranty
- No Software Required
- Play iPod shuffle on a car stereo
- Uses any FM radio frequency from 88.1 to 107.9
- Incredibly simple and quick to setup
- FM transmitter and charger combined
- Illuminated Display - Airplay features an illuminated display for easy-tuning
- Easy tuning with illuminated LCD buttons
- Charges iPod shuffle whether transmitting or not
- Compact design matches iPod shuffle
- Uses the iPod shuffle volume controls

Griffin iTrip for the iPod nano

Griffin Technology has come out with an expected addon for the iPod nano, the iTrip FM transmitter. Why Apple doesn’t integrate these basic features into the iPod is beyond me, but it does leave great headroom for manufacturers to create their attachments. Using the Griffin SmartSound volume control, optimizes audio quality and allows users to control the iTrip’s volume level through the iPod nano click wheel. Features include selectable mono or stereo mode, USB powered from the nano’s built-in port, on-screen tuning, US, International and Japanese tuning modes and last 3 station presets.

The Griffin iTrip for iPod nano’s price is set at $49.99 USD, Griffin is taking pre-orders now and will ship it in November. Via - Mobilemag
