Blu-ray Vs HD-DVD : Warner to Support Blu-ray
Warner Bros. Entertainment and its home entertainment division - Warner Home Video, have joined the board of directors of the Blu-ray Disc Association and will now release their films on Sony’s Blu-ray format.
Warner Bros., a long-standing backer of Toshiba’s HD-DVD, is the second major studio to split its loyalty writes Red Herring. Earlier this month, Paramount Studios, an initial supporter of HD-DVD, said it would release its movies in both Blu-ray and HD-DVD
The Blu-ray Disc is a Gen-Next optical disc format developed for high capacity software applications and high-definition video. While a single layer Blu-ray Disc can store up to 25 GB of data, a dual layer Blu-ray Disc can hold around 50 GB of data.
